Food stall owner finds bombs near Tangerang bank robbery scene

TANGERANG, Indonesia – Food stall owner Saepuri on Wednesday (December 25th) found two homemade grenades in a backpack under a chair at his business located near the scene of a bank robbery, local media reported.

Five people with guns robbed a branch of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) on Tuesday, according to the Jakarta Globe. The bank lost Rp. 337m ($27,700) in cash and the CCTV decoder.

The bag with grenades was left in the food stall by two men around the time of the bank robbery, witnesses said.

Police questioned ten witnesses, including three from the stall and seven officials and customers of the bank, The Jakarta Post reported.
