Indonesia court upholds Jokowi presidential win

JAKARTA, Indonesia – The Constitutional Court on Thursday (August 21st) upheld the results of last month's presidential election win by Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, rejecting the election fraud challenge of losing candidate Prabowo Subianto, AFP reported.

    Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva said the court was "rejecting the entire petition from the appellant".

    As judges began reading the lengthy verdict, police used tear gas and water cannon outside the building, after some Prabowo supporters threw rocks and attempted to breach a police barricade. Three people were injured and four arrested.
