Densus 88 arrests terror suspects in Palu

PALU, Indonesia – Densus 88 arrested four suspected terrorists late Sunday (October 5th) in Tatanga district, local media reported.

Police spokesman Agus Rianto identified the four as Sarwo alias Akbar, Farid, Padri and Ansar, according to TribunNews.com. He said they were linked to Santoso's network, to the Eastern Mujahideen (MIT) and involved in fai (robbery to fund jihad).

Farid is on the police's wanted list for alleged involvement in the shooting of a police officer at Bank Central Asia's Palu branch three years ago, The Jakarta Post reported. The Post also reported Poso police had located Santoso and Daeng Koro's hiding place.

Jojon, a resident who helped prevent the suspects from escaping, told the Post Densus 88 chased the suspects, who were on motorcycle. They were apprehended after crashing and falling into a sewer under repair.
