The West Jakarta neighbourhood sees some of the heaviest drug use in Indonesia. Now officials are cracking down on outsiders who come there to buy and use.

Yes, in my opinion, I don’t agree with anything that's in opposition of the law, because laws are made for everyone’s best interest, in order to create an environment of security. Guarding against the trade of illegal drugs should be increased, because these substances do damage especially to the young generation, as candidates to be future leaders of the nation. In addition, don’t discriminate in enforcement. If someone is providing “support", arrest them in accordance with the law. If someone who is “sick (addicted)” becomes a leader of the country, it will be a catastrophe for those who are healthy. To all of society, I say: keep a sharper lookout, to help the security officials. Thank you!

Officials who provide “backing” don’t shield citizens from illegal drugs, instead they protect drug dealers. Officials like that make me feel ashamed.
Indonesia's tradition of moderate, tolerant Islam is under threat by hard-line groups who are imposing their conservative views on others and intimidating religious minorities.
