The fact on the ground is that we can still find many religious sermons in Indonesian mosques that preach violent propaganda to followers of Islam. While these sermons do not directly incite people to rebel against the authorities, it may still lead this generation to easily believe that Islam is all about fighting those in power even though it is wrong. In this respect, the government has not adequately taken the necessary steps to prevent this negative influence from spreading further.
A caliph is freely chosen by Muslims everywhere for his wisdom and spiritual qualifications. The ISIL leader's proclamation of himself as caliph over all Muslims violates the principles of Islam.
