Prospect of e-voting draws mixed reaction in Indonesia
There are many risks associated with e-voting technology, and many politicians and academicians are sceptical about implementing it in the 2014 election.

I think that e-voting can only be implemented in countries with good law enforcement, whereas in law enforcement in Indonesia is far from what is required in a democratic country under the rule of law. The plan to implement e-voting will be mired by the issues that have arisen concerning multiple e-KTP (electronic identification cards) in this country. If this is true, the potential for fraud will be great and will give rise to chaos at a national level. At the same time, legal instruments in Indonesia will not be capable of dealing with this problem if we look at legal processes practiced in Indonesia where judicial bodies are not yet able to be sterile of certain group interests that are more powerful than the country, whether in the form of political parties or organisations.
