Abu Sayyaf member held in Philippines

BASILAN, Philippines – A notorious member of the militant terror group Abu Sayyaf, with a P1 million-bounty ($24,000) on his head, has been arrested in Basilan's Lamitan City, local media reported on Friday (September 28th).

    The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said Yatim Batah, alias Yatin Hakimin, was taken into custody Wednesday.

    Batah had a standing warrant for his arrest stemming from involvement in the 2001 kidnapping of 11 workers at the Golden Harvest coconut plantation.
