More deadly shootings in Deep South

YALA, Thailand – Insurgents are blamed for another deadly spate of attacks Thursday (November 15th) in the southern provinces of Narathiwat and Yala, local media reported.

The Nation reported that a rubber tapper was shot dead in Yala by a fellow motorcyclist who pulled up alongside him and opened fire, before speeding off.

The Bangkok Post reported two local leaders were gunned down in Narathiwat. \

Ibraheng Tale, 49, an assistant village head in Chanae district, was ambushed at his rubber plantation by a gunman with an AK47 assault rifle. Hours later, Posu Jeh-long, 46, a village head in Su-ngai Padi district, was shot in the head by a passenger on a motorcycle as he checked his truck's engine outside his house.
