China executes Filipina drug trafficker

MANILA, Philippines – China executed a Filipina on Wednesday (July 3rd) convicted of drug trafficking despite a request from Philippines President Benigno Aquino to spare her, AFP reported.

    In public comments expressing condolences to the woman's family, Vice President Jejomar Binay reiterated warnings to all Filipinos to resist the temptation to serve as drug mules into China. "It's not worth it. You are gambling with your life here. There is no amount that is worth your life." China arrested the woman and her cousin for heroin smuggling in 2011.
