GORONTALO, Indonesia – Bomb disposal units responded to a suspicious package left at an ATM at the Karsa Utama shopping mall in Gorontalo early Thursday (August 8th), local media reported.
A passer-by spotted the package and alerted a nearby military post, according to The Jakarta Post. A soldier said the wooden box contained a cell phone and cable.
"We are trying to identify what this package is made of, whether it really is a bomb or just something used to scare people," Gorontalo Police chief Andris Triaspoetra told Republika. "We are awaiting the results of a bomb disposal team to find out."
