BIMA, Indonesia – The National Police's anti-terror unit on Monday (December 16th) arrested a suspected terrorist allegedly involved in a string of armed robberies in West Jakarta, The Jakarta Globe reported.
Detachment 88 forces arrested the suspect, identified as Ruli Alexander -- also known as Iskandar -- in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, National Police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said.
Ruli's arrest follows separate arrests on Sunday of four other suspected Indonesian terrorists.
Ruli is also suspected of receiving Rp 47 billion ($3.8m) from the Abu Roban terror group to recruit terrorist operatives for military training in Poso, Central Sulawesi.
An eyewitness said Ruli tried to flee when police approached him, according to Tempo.
The network of Abu Roban, former leader of the West Indonesia Mujahidin, is blamed for a series of robberies and several terror attacks. He was slain in a shootout with police in Central Java in May.
