Malaysian police arrest 13 over gang rape of two teenagers

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Police on Friday (May 30th) arrested at least 13 people, including a father and two sons, over the alleged gang rape of two teenage girls, AFP reported.

    The girls, aged 15 and 17, were raped May 20th for hours by a group of men in an abandoned hut in Kelantan, said Lai Yong Heng, the state's director of crime investigation.

    He added police and are looking for "a few more" suspects in connection with the attack.

    "Boys are being raised in a culture where being masculine means being aggressive and that it's perfectly acceptable to use violence to get what you want," Suri Kempe, an official with the women's rights group Sisters in Islam, said in a statement.
