Burma, Thailand burn $400m of seized drugs

RANGOON, Burma – Burma and Thailand incinerated some $400m-worth of narcotics Thursday (June 26th) to mark World Drugs Day, AFP reported. Some 1.3 tonnes of opium, 225kg of heroin and 1.2 tonnes of methamphetamine tablets were destroyed in controlled blazes in Burma.

In Thailand, some 2.5 tonnes of methamphetamine, 21kg of heroin and 74kg of opium worth around $272m were destroyed in Ayutthaya, according to the Public Health Ministry.
