Indonesia struggles to combat human trafficking

Many seeking work in other countries fall prey to traffickers, and their illegal status makes them vulnerable to exploitation and deportation.

- In Indonesia work is difficult and the pay is meager, even if you are a university graduate the salary is still low. Also, Indonesians take age into account when it comes to work so it is very difficult to find work. The government does not concern itself with creating new work opportunities and establishing salaries that can meet peoples needs. The salary of a house maid in Malaysia is 700 RM in accordance with Malaysian law, with a net salary of 600 RM that can be saved. This is a challenge for Indonesia. Foreign workers are the biggest source of Indonesia's foreign income, why don't we protect them? This is why Indonesian people choose to work overseas.
