Seven ISIS members arrested in Cilacap

CILACAP, Indonesia – Cilacap Police on Tuesday (August 12th) arrested seven suspected members of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria ( ISIS ), local media reported.

    Self-proclaimed ISIS Indonesia President Chep Hermawan-- also head of the Islamic Reformist Movement (GARIS) of Cianjur-- was among those arrested.

    Police seized ISIS and GARIS flags, eight ISIS hats and four ISIS t-shirts, Tempo reported.

    The group was arrested with the paraphernalia after visiting convicted terrorists in Nusakambangan Prison. Police are trying to determine which inmate gave them the ISIS flag.

    Cilacap Police Chief Andry Triaspoetra said police were questioning the seven suspects on Wednesday.
