TANGERANG, Indonesia – Police announced Wednesday (May 29th) the arrest of three alleged drug traffickers in Tangerang tied to a stash of 64kg of dried marijuana, local media reported.

Cilandak police chief Sungkono told reporters the arrests Monday night followed a tip by local residents that a major marijuana transaction was in the works in Setu, South Tangerang, according to The Jakarta Globe.

"The target customers are students in Jakarta. Each package from this arrest can save 100 people," he said, according to detikNews.

Each suspect faces life in prison if convicted.
