Suspected Deep South insurgents kill head of Islamic school

PATTANI, Thailand – Gunmen in Pattani province pulled up on a pair of motorcycles and killed the owner of an Islamic religious school Tuesday (June 25th), The Bangkok Post reported.

The victims were identified as school owner Isma-air Maoh-mani and his wife, Farisa Wanyen. Isma-air died at the scene while his wife was wounded and taken to hospital, according to The Post.

In Yala province, meanwhile, two children were wounded when a bomb went off in a street, apparently targeting a truck carrying paramilitary personnel, The Nation reported. Three rangers and one adult civilian were also wounded in the blast, which took place in Muang District.
