BANGKOK, Thailand – Malaysia's king and queen are making a four-day state visit to Thailand this week, in what Thai ambassador to Malaysia Krit Kraichitti described as a reflection of the continued excellent relations between the neighbours, local media reported.
This marks the second visit by Tuanku Abdul Halim and Tuanku Hajah Haminah in 40 years, The Nation reported.
They met with Thailand's king and queen at Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on Monday. Later they met with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in Bangkok on Tuesday, The Bangkok Post reported.
"I am confident that Malaysia and Thailand will continue to enhance bilateral relations and expand regional co-operation, especially with the creation of an ASEAN community by 2015," King Tuanku Abdul Halim said, according to Bernama.
