BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok said representatives of separatist groups Pattani United Liberation Organisation (Pulo) and the Barisan Islam Pembebasan Patani (BIPP) will join the next round of peace talks, local media reported.
Pracha said he was informed by Malaysian facilitator Ahmad Zamzamin Hashim the two groups will join the government and Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) for talks scheduled for December in Malaysia, The Bangkok Post reported.
The government expects Runda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) to join future talks.
The National Security Council (NSC) postponed peace talks with the BRN in October because the group needed to give an explanation for why the Ramadan truce was violated and why violence increased in the Deep South, according to National News Bureau of Thailand.
