DHAKA, Bangladesh – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Monday (November 18th) his country and Bangladesh continue to have strong relations while holding bilateral meetings with counterpart Sheik Hasina, local media reported.
He said the launch of the Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialised Hospital and Nursing College in Dhaka was further proof, adding that KPJ Healthcare Bhd will help Bangladesh improve its healthcare sector, Bernama reported.
The 250-bed hospital will deliver healthcare services, including to Bangladesh's poor, and meet international standards. KPJ operates 23 hospitals in Malaysia, two in Indonesia and one in Thailand.
Razak said the hospital will have a 50-seat nursing college and also said during the meeting he would ensure Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia face better conditions.
"Our government will look after the Bangladeshi workers so that they do not have to face any hassle in Malaysia," he said, according to the Dhaka Tribune.
Hasina said the migrant workers are improving socioeconomic conditions in both countries.
She also touted her country's investment-friendly policies, saying Bangladesh had many sectors that would be attractive to Malaysia.
