JAKARTA, Indonesia – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said Wednesday (March 26th) he would send a letter to Saudi Arabia officials in an attempt to delay the execution of maid Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad, local media reported.

Yudhoyono chaired a meeting to discuss Indonesians working overseas, Antara News reported.

Although he said he would ask to delay the April 4th beheading, he said Indonesians must realize that not all jailed migrant workers are innocent.

"Our people have difficultly differentiating between migrant workers who have problems abroad because of their own mistakes and those who don't," he said, according to the Jakarta Globe.

Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo said the government, which is trying to raise Riyal 7m ($1.9m) to pay off the victim's family, shouldn't participate in the practice of blood money and that it shouldn't send its citizens abroad to work under harsh conditions.
