In Indonesia, Lady Gaga's show won't go on

Tens of thousands of fans are outraged, but conservative Muslim groups say Lady Gaga does not belong in Indonesia.

- Hey. "Humaidi", and everyone else: if someone wants to buy a Lady gaga ticket let them buy it, it's none of your business so why the protests? Is it just for show? Sometimes the followers of Islam can go overboard, meddling in people's affairs. Is this what you call Indonesia? A country with a Muslim majority that doesn't respect other religions? I will respond retaliate in my country and antagonize Muslims. I thought that Islam is capable of respecting other religions and not meddle, I was wrong. Islam Is crazy and clueless. #Anonymous

- Oh man, you all are out of control. Where were you before, when foreign performers came to Indonesia and their tickets cost more than Lady Gaga’s concert? What’s more, of course, you think you know what kind of clothes Lady Gaga will wear. Don’t pre-judge Lady Gaga. Who knows, maybe Lady Gaga wants to respect our nation. Who knows, maybe lady Gaga will wear ordinary clothes in her concert, not racy clothes like you think. You act like you’re such big defenders of everything. Lady Gaga’s career has taken off, because she is in the news and has lots of fans. Defenders of Islam, I pray that your grandchildren (the Islamic defenders) would become fans of Lady Gaga.

- In essence, we have to mind our own business, don’t mess in other people’s business. We were born into the world with ‘differences’. We have to keep the word ‘different’ in mind – ‘different’ in personality, standpoint, intelligence, preference, moral character, religion, etc.

- It’s more than clear that Lady Gaga’s doctrine will cause deviant behavior in the Muslim community in this country. Only people who are stupid and ignorant are supporting this concert. The truest source of knowledge is to return to the foundation of the Koran and the hadiths. Understand and put them into practice, don’t just read the newspapers.

- Heaven forbid! Apparently, there are many fans of SATAN (Lady Gaga) in Indonesia. Tickets cost over two million rupiahs, but many people hunt for one. In contrast, entry to a mosque is free and the benefits are many but not many people are interested. It is fitting that Allah (May the blessings of peace be upon Him) always instills punishment on humankind. We are not giving thanks to God, instead we are inviting SATAN (Lady Gaga). Fear Allah (May the blessings of peace be upon Him)! Come on, let’s think positively and be close to Allah (May the blessings of peace be upon Him).
