"Old network, new faces" plotting terror in Indonesia
Extremist cells busted in a series of raids were involved in a spree of bank robberies, apparently designed to secure funding for a terror training camp and other operations.

There needs to be awareness among all elements of society to help the government in combating terrorists.

Terrorist is a label given by those who hate the Islamic fighters after the bombing of the WTC. How much longer can Indonesia sustain the crackdown on terrorists which has so far consumed a great amount of state funds and killed many children of the nation who were ready to die to defend Indonesia. Meanwhile, Indonesians who work overseas who are not terrorists are treated as terrorists. Will the government come to their defense? When will our nation be regarded by other nations as one that is proud and dignified in the eyes of the world. "We want our country to love us like we love our country".

The condition of this country is growing even more uncertain. To deal with all the problems faced by this nation and country we need a leader who is firm, brave, honest and formidable who can serve as a role model and example for his people. Do not panic or become confused in facing the problems that arise in society, because if a leader looks panicked and confused, the people will be even more confused and this may lead to utter chaos.

As a nation, Indonesians should trust in one another. We should not kill each other because it is prohibited by religion.

Any man who fears Allah SWT would not become a terrorist and would not accuse others of being a terrorist.

The people of Indonesia must be vigilant, little by little the people's way of life is inching closer to the verge of chaos. Our Unity in Diversity is becoming more biased, war is being waged between ethnic, tribal, and religious groups. The principles that we often used to advocate like Gotong Royong (Mutual Cooperation) and Forum Towards Consensus have been forgotten by the people. People tend to act on their own, as if there were no country within the country. Political, economic, and legal instability are getting worse. The law of the jungle, it seems, has permeated our lives as a nation in this country. How much longer will this country remain in this vicious cycle of destruction?

The label of (Islamic) terrorist has stuck just like the extremist label was stuck on the natives during colonial times.

It is better that we do nothing and look at the government's attitude towards us.

Concerning young terrorists, It is the duty of clerics together with the government to guide them so that they will return to the right path. The approach should not be repressive, but persuasive and investigative to find the deeper "root" of the problem. Speaking of terrorism in the homeland, there are three points of analysis that emerge. Firstly, the cells still exist. Secondly, the public opinion game pertaining to recent events (corruption cases and a political year). Third, foreign parties who will not "tolerate" Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, beginning to thrive, becoming more secure, and transforming into a developed nation. In dealing with cases of young terrorists, we must be wise and vigilant, provide them with guidance, and we must seek out the root of the problem because they still have a chance to become good people. A repressive approach in dealing with young terrorists will only fan the flames. So I urge the clerics, the government, and intellectuals to seek a more elegant solution.

Everyone believes that their religion holds the most truth, but this doesn't mean that they can harass others of a different religion. No religion justifies criminal behavior, even those without religion know that robbery is a crime. It is beyond reason that a struggle in the name of religion would be done through theft and murder. This is a group of miscreants with no self esteem, seeking attention while having no talents other than to destroy. An education that focuses solely on religion creates graduates who are not competent in facing real life. Rather than doing nothing they become terrorists. We need to restructure the education in Indonesia. Schools that do not impart life skills should be closed down.

The younger generation needs to be properly enlightened on the true meaning of radicalism according to Islam.
