BANGKOK, Thailand – A bomb attack wounded dozens at an opposition protest march in Bangkok Friday (January 17th), AFP reported.

Authorities and demonstrators blamed each other for the blast apparently caused by a grenade-type device thrown from a building.

The Erawan Emergency Medical Services Centre said 31 people were hurt, including one with severe injuries. Eight people have been killed and hundreds wounded in street violence since protests began some two months ago.

Demonstrators want to force Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's government from office and install a "people's council". Yingluck has called for February 2nd elections in a bid to defuse the crisis.
